  • Nanami Now Naked

December 11th, 2009, by zalas in Translation

After some internal discussion, MangaGamer has now stated that they intend to keep the CGs intact on their release of Soul Link. Furthermore, Satoko’s naked sprite in one scene of Higurashi When They Cry will no longer be replaced with one where she is wearing a towel. Lastly, MangaGamer states that they hope to not alter games in the future, citing “Freedom of Speech” and the fact that their customers are adults and can make a decision on their own about whether to place themselves at risk or not, although “it is impossible to say there will not come a time when [they] are forced to censor content in a game.” While the ability to make to decision as adults is a strong argument in favor of MangaGamer’s reversal, freedom of speech is not fully legally enforced in all countries to which MangaGamer sells games.
