When They Translate

It appears that MangaGamer will be continuing onwards in their translation of Higurashi no Nakukoro ni without the help of Sonozaki Futago-tachi, according to the twins’ latest post on their blog. However, MangaGamer does seem to be serious about the translation, and has modified their translation workflow for Higurashi. Furthermore, it also appears that the license given to MangaGamer for creating an English translation of Higurashi happens to not be exclusive. Therefore, Sonozaki Futago-tachi will also be continuing their own translation project.

When A Higurashi Cries Out Alone In The Forest…

Today the Sonozaki Futago-tachi release their full translation of Onikakushi-hen, the first chapter of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. The translation project was announced in November 2007 and has seen progress steadily increasing as the months passed. Over the past few weeks the translators have been fine-tuning the project as a whole, fixing inconsistencies and translation errors in the early parts of the chapter and adding extra features such as in-game translation notes.
