Anime Expo 2008 – Day 4

The fourth and final day of Anime Expo did not have many interesting panels, so we visited the exhibition hall. We approached RJP Pro and asked them about the current status of the Angel Rabbie OVA+Game product. Their reply was that production was mostly done, but they are having financial difficulties with distribution. As of right now, they do not feel they can sell enough copies to recoup the manufacturing and distribution costs.
Afterwards, we talked with some staff at Hen Da Ne, a seller of doujinshi and imported Japanese games, and we found out that products for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni sold surprisingly well, including both the spinoff action games as well as the original visual novels.

Fanime 2006 Report

I’ve had the pleasure to talk to some folks over at RJP Pro and Hirameki about their products. RJP Pro reports that the game part of their Tenbatsu! Angel Rabbie title is done as is the subbing and dubbing of the anime. Only thing left is authoring the DVD with better menus, replication and distribution.
On the Hirameki front, they presented a panel on a brief overview of visual novel games and also showed some opening movies of some of their titles. They also announced a new title, Piece of Wonder, which is a doujin title from Studio Cross-Fire. Two more titles are in the pipeline and they are in negotiations for a third.
