Tidbit: Dengeki Stryker coming out on June 22

MangaGamer has posted the product page and opened pre-orders for their English localization of OVERDRIVE’s super hero eroge Dengeki Stryker. The game is expected to be released on June 22, and a trial version and opening movie are both available for download. Pre-orders will come with a 10% discount and works by sending the buyer the serial code first. A post on the blog describes the game in more detail.

MangaGamer has now released SCORE’s sexromp Magical Teacher: My Teacher’s a Mage?. In other news, translated song lyric sheets were accidentally left out of MangaGamer’s release of DEARDROPS and are now correctly included with the game downloads. For people who already installed the game, the lyric sheets can be downloaded separately from their blog. Dengeki Stryker is currently in testing, and both Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru and Eroge are currently in translation, with the latter at 13/60 H-scenes translated.

MangaGamer has now released OVERDRIVE’s DEARDROPS, a story of a rock band united by expired drinks from an old vending machine. It is available as a download from MangaGamer at 34.95 EUR and comes as two zip archives, one 764 MiB and one 1.07 GiB in size. In other related news, according to a series of tweets, Tamiyasu Tomoe, who ~~may or may not have voiced a character in DEARDROPS~~ is probably most well-known for playing the role of Riki, Rin and Sasami from Key’s Little Busters!, is planning on coming to Anime Expo 2012 with bamboo, but not in an official business capacity. However, she is open to gig requests from companies and organizations.

MangaGamer announces titles at Katsucon

At their panel during Katsucon, MangaGamer announced that they will be producing a localization for CARAMEL-BOX’s Otome wa Boku(Oneesama) ni Koishiteru (Otoboku), which was what the first(trap) hint in their guessing game alluded to. They have also secured rights to CLOCKUP’s game about producing eroge, unsurprisingly called Eroge. Furthermore, due to the combined might of ~~the anti-Toutaku Alliance~~ online and hard copy distribution orders, a voiced version of Koihime Musou is on the way as well. In other news, DEARDROPS is set to be released on March 2 and the sex romp Magical Teacher from SCORE will have a release date of April 13.

JAST USA and MangaGamer deliver year-end updates

Both JAST USA and MangaGamer have delivered their year-end updates. From the JAST USA end, it looks like Saya no Uta and Hanachirasu will be sold separately, although there will be a discount for buying them together. The two games along with Sumaga are scheduled to be out before Anime Expo. Meanwhile, MangaGamer states that they’re working on a 4th hard copy game from the J-List distribution deal, which will be a game they have already released that they are trying to fix up. Furthermore, they’re also aiming for a end-of-February or beginning-of-March release for DEARDROPS, while the trial version is currently out for people to try out the game. Dengeki Stryker and Harukoi Otome are still in translation, with the former aimed at a release by the time Anime Expo comes around. As for ef – the first tale, it’s still undergoing review by NNL of the latest build from minori, which if it passes, will allow the release to proceed.

MangaGamer reveals new hardcopy titles

MangaGamer has now announced the first three releases under their hardcopy collaboration with J-List. Go Go Nippon!, their all-ages game that introduces the reader to living in Japan, will be available for 15 USD MSRP. For their adult segment, MangaGamer and J-List are releasing Edelweiss and its fan disc, Eiden Fantasia as a bundle for the list price of 40 USD. Lastly, the recently released maid-centric title, We Love Master, will also be receiving a hardcopy edition, for the list price of 35 USD. All titles will be DRM-free, as have been their previous hardcopy titles, and are basic releases with no extras. The announcement post also contains detailed images of the packaging. Go Go Nippon and the Edelweiss bundle are expected to finish printing on December 20, and MangaGamer hopes to push through last minute fixes for We Love Master to have it out by New Years. The J-List website is now accepting preorders of the newly announced titles.

MangaGamer has tweeted that the English localization of the rock and roll visual novel from OVERDRIVE, DEARDROPS has entered beta testing. Furthermore, they hope to have a trial version up later this month.

Go Go Nippon going nicely

MangaGamer released their virtual homestay game, Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~ slightly over a week ago and has garnered a decent amount of sales. According to MangaGamer, sales of Go Go Nippon during the first week beat out Kara no Shoujo and We Love Master in their first week sales. However, sales numbers for the first week were still less than first day sales of Koihime Musou. The rate at which Go Go Nippon has been selling has MangaGamer commenting that “[they'd] love to see the game expanded through DLC, so [they] hope it continues to sell well.”

The game itself is available from MangaGamer’s all-ages site for 9.95 EUR and comes in a 256.5 MiB zip file which can be extracted to play the game (after activating online of course). The game runs at 800×600 and the user interface is very similar to previous MangaGamer games. However, for parts of the game where characters are conversing or thinking in Japanese, there is an option to display the original Japanese lines as well. The start of a new game begins with asking the player to input a name as well as the current exchange rate of the yen with either the dollar or the euro, as the game will keep track of how much the protagonist has spent throughout his week in Japan. One issue with the exchange rate interface is that JPY and USD were erroneously swapped on the screen (while the EUR option is fine).
