For some strange reason, every April 1st, there is a flood of website updates around the world, often with new announcements. As with last year, we are including a list of translation project updates. For a list of updates from other websites, you can check a strangely named thread on the Gemot.

Note: the [NSFW] tag means not safe for work, and may include 18+ content.

<del datetime="2009-04-02T05:42:23+00:00">[NSFW] Sekai Project announces that they will be working on Squeez’s Teach Me! Update: April Fool’s. The page has been restored.

The red moon has risen at mirror moon, which usually signals a new release. <del datetime="2009-03-31T23:54:14+00:00">However, there has been no announcement yet.</del> They have released Tsukihime 2 English today, a year after announcing the project. Update: Confirmed to be an OEL parody work of Tsukuhime.

Not a translation, but the Daily Momo-i TIMES informs us that Bottomless’s Omakase!

As what looks to be a happy thanksgiving gift, mirror moon has released the “Melty Blood PC Version Panoply.” This full set of translated fighting games constitutes English versions of Melty Blood, Melty Blood ReACT and Melty Blood: Act Cadenza, together with free trial versions of all three games.

Over the years Melty Blood has become famous as one of the most advanced 2D fighting games ever created and has seen a plethora of expansions and ports since its original conception. Apart from the trial versions of all three games, the most notable title in today’s release set is the translation of Act Cadenza Ver.B, which had been on hold for a long time since the actual translation was finished. Being the only title still readily available for sale, MBAC does however not have the large visual novel styled story mode that was available in the first two games. The updated versions of MB and MBR English most notably offer full Vista support and a crashing bug fix for MBR, as well as a general polish to the translated images and game systematics.

Melty Blood: Act Cadenza Ver.B can be bought at HimeyaShop. Downloads are available at the mirror moon website.

After three years of hard work, today mirror moon releases their full translation of Fate/stay night, the largest game ever to have been translated to English by fans. The release can patch an existing installation of Fate/stay night (either Japanese or English) or install a new one, supports both the CD and DVD versions of the game and includes an optional voice patch, used to add the Realta Nua PS2 voice acting to all spoken dialogue in the game. Fate/stay night English is released for Windows only and works on both Japanese and non-Japanese locales.

After three years of hard work, today mirror moon releases their full translation of Fate/stay night, the largest game ever to have been translated to English by fans. Fate/stay night English is released for Windows only and works on both Japanese and non-Japanese locales.

Fate/stay night is one of the most famous visual novels of the decade, telling the story of the Holy Grail War, a fierce battle between seven magi and the Servants they control. It was released by TYPE-MOON on January 30, 2004, was sequeled by Fate/hollow ataraxia late 2005 and got an anime adaptation by Studio DEEN and Geneon in 2006. The game was later ported to the PS2 as Realta Nua. The Fate universe has seen several expansions in forms of novels, manga and fighting games.

mirror moon translator TakaJun started working on the script and images of Fate/stay night late 2005, working silently for a few months to see if translating the game would be feasible. At April Fools’ 2006 the project was officially announced, the joke being that it was actually true. It then took over a year until the Fate route patch could be released, translating the first of the game’s three routes to English. Two years after the official announcement the second version was released, adding the second route Unlimited Blade Works. Now, after a total of three years of work, all three routes are translated with the release of Heavens Feel.

Edit: Due to a nasty bug a new version was released (v3.1), but for the voiced version of v3.1 another small fix is required. See the official post for details.

Over the past few days many people have been speculating about the red moon theme on the mirror moon website, but despite hopes uttered by some fans the world is not yet seeing a Heaven’s Feel release. Today, mirror moon releases their English translation of Men at Work! 2.

Probably the longest running translation project to ever see the light of completion, Men at Work! 2 English was first started by Top50 back in 2001. As years came and went the progress of the project slowed to a dead halt until TheXev and Top50 agreed that mirror moon would take over the translation. TakaJun had already translated part of the game for the original MaW!2 Translation Project and it was decided that the rest of the game scripts would be re-translated by him as well. At some point TheXev passed on the director’s chair to Radical R, who finalized the project together with the rest of the mirror moon staff.

Men at Work! 2 is an adult action/fantasy RPG styled visual novel, released by Studio e.go! in november 2000, featuring a 3D battle system and, in the plus version, full voices. The Voice Plus version (version 1.50) was originally released as a bonus on the Men at Work! 3 DVD, and has since been released once more on the Men at Work! 4 Special Edition DVD featuring a huge overhaul to its 3D system (version 1.51). The translation is designed to work with either of the two Voice Plus versions of the game. It will not work with the original, unvoiced Men at Work! 2. The Men at Work! 4 Special Edition DVD can be purchased through HimeyaShop [NSFW].
