The website for minori’s overseas visitors has now been replaced by a very short message:

UPDATE: No Name Losers’ website is now also shortened to a simple message:
We’ll update you with more information as soon as it becomes available.

minori sends another email to NNL

After apparently receiving no response from No Name Losers to an email asking for them to stop their activities, minori has now sent another email to No Name Losers, this time publishing the contents of their email on (at least the) overseas-facing portion of their official website. From the contents of the email, it appears that minori has taken a slightly less confrontational stance, making clear their belief that NNL is infringing on their rights and what they believe to be the negative effects of NNL’s actions while no longer directly threatening legal action. Furthermore, from minori’s new requests, it appears that they have now learned more about NNL’s future plans as well and would like NNL to cease with those as well.
UPDATE: No Name Losers’ webpage has been replaced by a page claiming they are in “preliminary discussions with the CEO of minori, nbkz Sakai.”
UPDATE 2: minori has also updated their website, indicating they are in talks with NNL. (x3)
UPDATE 3: NNL’s website now embeds a YouTube video of a piano performance of ebullient future, the opening theme to the 2nd season of the animated adaptation of ef – a fairy tale of the two.
UPDATE 4: Both minori and NNL websites indicate an announcement may be possible in the next couple of days.

IP Blocks, Revisited

A blog site that keeps track of the export of Japanese bishoujo games, hevoluson, posted an article today looking at the current status of foreign IP blocks in Japan as well as TLWiki’s blocks, using a 2ch thread on an 18+ board as a source. The author points out an interesting post in the thread which claims that in addition to minori, CUFFS and Gungnir, there were three other companies who sent requests to TLWiki. However, there has been no sign of any response from TLWiki with regards to these requests.
UPDATE: Anime Novel related stuff moved to new post
UPDATE 2: Conversations in TLWiki’s IRC channel seem to indicate that cease and desist notices were indeed received from GIGA. Meanwhile, several uploaded scripts from Parfait were removed and Baldr Force EXE was removed from the list of projects in the sidebar.
UPDATE 3: Both Parfait and Baldr Force EXE pages have been now deleted from TLWiki.

NNL and minori update websites

The foreign-facing section of minori’s website has been updated with an added explanation of their reasoning for their recent actions, seemingly focusing on indemnification of users. They also extend a welcome for people to visit Japan and play their games there. Meanwhile, NNL has updated their website, replacing it with an embedded YouTube video of a song called Rise Again and a new title for their page: No Name Losers – We Rise Again! There appears to be some confusion about whether NNL contacted minori previously regarding Wind. It does not appear that the project team really thought that minori knew about the project, according to the project FAQ.

minori continues chatting

It appears that minori is still commenting on a talk page on the TLWiki, and due to the previous article being ridiculously long, the rest of the conversation and any more developments will be posted in this article. To summarize the new comments, minori talked about user license agreements and the proper way to go about translating games.
UPDATE: We’ve been informed that minori has supposedly sent NNL a DMCA request and intend to pursue legal action in Canada if the DMCA is ignored. Meanwhile, NNL has put up a poll on their website asking whether ef should be released. Meanwhile, having also received correspondence from minori, one of the teams working on eden has decided to stop working on the project.
