MangaGamer rereleases Edelweiss

Today, MangaGamer released an updated version of Edelweiss which, according to an email they sent out, fixes “program bugs” and “spelling mistakes”; it is available for purchase now from their website. Previous purchasers of this game have been notified via email to download the game again and there does not seem to be a patch.

MangaGamer delays game releases to address quality

According to a post on their website, MangaGamer stated that they will be delaying the releases of their games as they have been “working hard to improve the quality of the translation of each title.” Most of the games have been pushed back, including Edelweiss, which is now being released on the 20th of September. The new release will include an improved script as well as fixes to the game engine and will also be released as a patch for customers who have already purchased the game.

MangaGamer talks OVERDRIVE

MangaGamer, in an email from one of its staff, has confirmed rumors of plans to release OVERDRIVE’s Kira Kira, Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia and Kira Kira Curtain Call, but no date is set yet. Additionally, the email clarifies their new translation strategy.

MangaGamer pushes back game releases

According to MangaGamer’s website, releases for all their upcoming games have been pushed back. Of note, Da Capo has been pushed back to mid-October and Suika has been pushed back to the beginning of December. Possible reasons for these delays may lie in their interest in producing a better script and their solicitation of proofreaders. However, they may simply be swamped with too much work at the moment.

MangaGamer looking for a few good otaku

It appears that MangaGamer is making an earnest attempt to improve the quality of their translated scripts. They’ve released an update patch to “Which girl should I choose?” (HinataBokko) and there are reports suggesting that their latest game has a higher quality script than their previous two. Lastly, as posted on their website, they are looking for proofreaders to help them out. People who are interested should contact info@manga-corp.com.
