MangaGamer reveals new hardcopy titles

MangaGamer has now announced the first three releases under their hardcopy collaboration with J-List. Go Go Nippon!, their all-ages game that introduces the reader to living in Japan, will be available for 15 USD MSRP. For their adult segment, MangaGamer and J-List are releasing Edelweiss and its fan disc, Eiden Fantasia as a bundle for the list price of 40 USD. Lastly, the recently released maid-centric title, We Love Master, will also be receiving a hardcopy edition, for the list price of 35 USD. All titles will be DRM-free, as have been their previous hardcopy titles, and are basic releases with no extras. The announcement post also contains detailed images of the packaging. Go Go Nippon and the Edelweiss bundle are expected to finish printing on December 20, and MangaGamer hopes to push through last minute fixes for We Love Master to have it out by New Years. The J-List website is now accepting preorders of the newly announced titles.

MangaGamer posted an update on their progress with their current game pipeline. Da Capo Innocent Finale is supposed to be out by “around the end of this month”, as finishing touches are currently being applied to it. It was claimed that D.C.I.F. would be the first game to have undergone that much testing and revision and should be a “complete farewell to the older days of Engrishy releases.” MangaGamer appears to also be pushing for Da Capo II to be released by Christmas, along with “a few bits of good news.” They had also received revised scripts for ef from No Name Losers, and their editor has been making progress on them. Progress on Edelweiss has also been going steadily, and an image of Edelweiss on the iPhone in Japanese suggests the possibility of the retranslation making it on the iPhone as well. Lastly, the first image posted in the article looks to be a trash incinerator. However, it is actually an animated GIF image, and would periodically flash to another, more gruesome image…

According to the MangaGamer Twitter account, editing and re-translation of Edelweiss is now past the “flower incident” and the system files for Koihime Musou have gone past the editing stage.

MangaGamer has now released their latest title Cosplay Alien according to ~~plan~~schedule. The fandisk Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia has also been assigned a release date of March 20, according to a post on the official staff blog. There will be plans to offer a bundle package for those who have not purchased the original game, Edelweiss. We also had a chance to talk to someone from MangaGamer, and they’ve indicated that they’ve now picked a new font and it should start appearing in games once the programming to incorporate the new font is completed. However, currently unreleased games that are mostly finished will probably not get the new font.

Tidbit: MangaGamer forum now has bug report section

EvoSpace, in charge of the MangaGamer forums, has added a section in the forums for users to report (script) errors found in MangaGamer’s games. MangaGamer is “planning to release patches in the future” but there’s no guarantee all the bugs will be fixed and the release schedule is totally up in the air.
