MangaGamer pulls Da Capo for bug fix
December 26th, 2008, by in Translation
According to MangaGamer’s website, they have discovered a bug in the release and is halting distribution of this product temporarily, with a rerelease date of January 20, 2009. It looks like customers who have bought the game can still download it, but it is no longer available to new customers.
UPDATE: According to a post on MangaGamer’s forums, Da Capo wasn’t supposed to be released on Christmas and was supposed to undergo a final quality check. Supposedly, much of MangaGamer is run by volunteers from the Japanese game companies, who have been very busy preparing for Comiket and may have forgotten to update the date before the website automatically enabled Da Capo for sales.

MangaGamer released an English localisation of CIRCUS’s romance adventure game Da Capo today. The game is available as an 800MB download for 49.95 euros and requires activation, as usual. The quality of the English script has substantially increased since the days of Edelweiss, and strangely, the entire game has been ported to Buriko General Interpreter/Ethornell from CIRCUS’s own engine.

MangaGamer pushes back game releases
August 7th, 2008, by in Translation
According to MangaGamer’s website, releases for all their upcoming games have been pushed back. Of note, Da Capo has been pushed back to mid-October and Suika has been pushed back to the beginning of December. Possible reasons for these delays may lie in their interest in producing a better script and their solicitation of proofreaders. However, they may simply be swamped with too much work at the moment.

Da Capo in 1/4 meter
June 2nd, 2006, by in Release, Translation, VisualNews
Three days ago the world saw the sudden release of an alpha patch for Da Capo Plus Communication, offering a 25% translation of average quality by Arkanos. The patch was created with programming help from roxfan and translates the Kotori, Kanae and Alice routes.
D.C.P.C. is an adult school romance story, released in 2004 by CIRCUS. It contains everything the original PC game had and adds the content of the all-age PS2 version. The patch can be downloaded from the official page, or from our mirror on the full games page. We have also added insani’s Red Shift release to the page, our apologies for the delay. Furthermore, on the demo page you will now find mirrors of Hirameki’s Ever17 and Ai Yori Aoshi demos.
