  • Lost in a Forest

January 15th, 2012, by dan88 in Release, Translation

Last night, Amaterasu Translations completed their sixth translation project by releasing a complete fan translation of Liar-Soft’s Forest. This is the third translation of a Liar-Soft title that they have completed, following Sekien no Inganock and Shikkoku no Sharnoth. The release has been hampered by DNS issues for some users after the server suffered an extended period of downtime earlier this week. The translator Ixrec is now looking at Key’s Rewrite for the team’s seventh project after his break. As of now he expects the translation of Rewrite to take six to seven months to complete and the current plan is to release two partial patches before the final release, one for the common route and one containing all of the character routes.

  • A translation for A Profile

October 6th, 2011, by dan88 in Release, Translation

Earlier this week, Amaterasu Translations released their third fan translation of 2011, with a complete translation patch for AKABEiSOFT’s A Profile. They translated the 2006 remake of the title by AKABEiSOFT2 rather than the original 2005 doujin release. The patch itself is quite small, coming in at only 1.7MB and includes the option to either play with H-scenes as the title was originally written, or to exclude these scenes if one wishes to. This release marks the completion of the fifth project by Amaterasu Translations, as well as the seventh visual novel to be translated by Ixrec. Looking ahead to their sixth project, they are now planning to tackle Liar-soft’s Forest.

  • Amaterasu deal falls apart, two patches released

September 6th, 2011, by zalas in Press Release, Release, Translation

Amaterasu has announced the release of an English translation patch for âge’s MuvLuv Alternative as well as Liar-soft’s Shikkoku no Sharnoth, stating that they are giving up on the licensing deal with MangaGamer and citing, amongst other things, disappointment with âge deciding to offer MangaGamer Kimi ga Nozomu Eien instead. They will now proceed to translate AKABEiSOFT2’s remade version of A Profile and Liar-soft’s Forest after that. A representative of Katahane’s fan translation team also chimed in to say that disappointment in their dealings with MangaGamer also led them to releasing their patch. In response, MangaGamer has sent us an official statement regarding the matter, which is reproduced in the last section of this article. In short, they express disappointment in the turn of events and outline possible fallout from Amaterasu’s decision.

EDIT: Amaterasu leader Ixrec clarifies over Twitter that they were more upset with the dearth of information concerning the agreement as well as receiving “blatantly false” information.
