Anime Expo 2011, like previous years, did not disappoint, and we managed to attend interesting panels, visit interesting booths and talk to interesting people. While VOCALOID seemed to be a big component of this year’s Anime Expo, our coverage spans the MangaGamer entourage, JAST USA, Shira Oka, ZERO ZIGEN and Nitro+. For those of you who simply want the big headlines, JAST USA announced that they were looking into the Starry Sky series of otome games, MangaGamer announced that they were in talks about Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.

Erlkönig on the G String
December 25th, 2010, by in Release, Translation
A full translation patch for AKABEiSOFT2’s G-Senjou no Maou has now been posted on TLWiki for Christmas. The post requests feedback on any bugs or errors, and the page also lists places to purchase the game as well as a link to a walkthrough. The patch comes as a 14.5MiB installer executable and is the result of roughly 20 months of work starting from the Chinese fan translation of the game with translation checks from the Japanese text. The game’s title derives from two classical music pieces and features classical music arrangements for its background music. The protagonist, a student who secretly works as his stepfather’s right-hand man, is confronted by a new transfer student, Usami Haru, about “The Devil”. At the same time, he receives an email tasking him to seek out “The Devil” that is interfering with his stepfather’s “business”…

More correspondence from AKABEiSOFT2
June 13th, 2010, by in Translation
Suzumiyaandy reports on the gemot that AKABEiSOFT2 has sent him an email regarding his translation of WHEEL SOFT’s (an AKABEiSOFT2 brand) ~Pantsu wo Miseru koto, Sore ga…~ Daiuchuu no Hokori. The email lists three games for which translations should be removed (of which one of them applies in this particular instance) and states that user(s) have also sent in many such requests. The correspondence also appears to be from a different source than the one sent to Anime Novel previously.
