No Name Losers has updated its website slightly, with the phrase “Ready for some magic?” and a picture of a broomstick with supipara written on top and “Alice the magical conductor” writtten below. supipara happens to be minori’s newly announced title, being the fifth in its main line releases according to its subtitle “minori’s 5th debut about ‘Wonder’”. This title was announced with a movie at the end of minori’s latest release, Tenshi no Nichiyoubi. There have been no updates from minori’s site so far.

UPDATE: minori’s site has now been updated to redirect to http://overseas.minori.ph/ for people accessing from outside Japan and currently has Yuuko Amamiya flying past Japan carrying a bottle. It currently has the text “See you tomorrow !!”

UPDATE 2: On minori’s site, Yuuko now appears to be headed towards Toronto, Canada, and No Name Losers’ website now has a picture of a smiling Miyako Miyamura standing next to an open mailbox with a bottle protruding out of it. The image file is aptly named “received.png”.

UPDATE 3: Yuuko is now seen zooming off east, leaving a prone and scantily clad Miyako behind next to a Canadian flag marking Toronto.

UPDATE 4: Yuuko is now on her way to what appears to be the Netherlands, and the caption was changed to: “Japan-Canada-??? See you tomorrow !!!!!”

UPDATE 5: The top image on minori’s website has been replaced with a picture of super-deformed ef characters. There’s Miyako talking on the phone along with a frantic Mizuki trying to stop an angry Kei. “Tomorrow!” seems to be what the three are shouting.

  8. random.idiot Says:
    September 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 pm

what is happening is that Yuuko Amamiya have made it to Canada! (with her bottle)

hidden message: minori will be exporting Japanese Saki to Canada, NNL will be their agent.

  9. Doku Says:
    September 22nd, 2010 at 8:36 pm

Grr, I mad, even though this is most definitely good news.
I want eden, dammit, and yet, it looks like we are getting the stupid ef Fandisc instead.

Gipface better be trollan, if we really aren’t supposed to expect eden now…

  10. Sacchinftw Says:
    September 22nd, 2010 at 9:54 pm

My money is on that bottle being the surprise lawsuit that Minori is using to get NNL fucked.

  11. random.idiot Says:
    September 22nd, 2010 at 11:16 pm

first Yuuko traveled westward to get to Canada…. then reached the western shores of Canada!… just so that she could delivery a bottle of Saki to a city that is at the eastern side of Canada!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the bottle is empty because she drank it before takeoff ;-)

P.S. yea, I know why Yuuko was traveling to the *west*

  12. TheEtherealAnonPoster Says:
    September 23rd, 2010 at 12:33 am

both sides have one thing in common and that is the bottleneck saki. There’s too many things that could represent that saki you know? But for now the theory “NNL is trolling us and minori” is out of the picture.

Okay I tried to keep quiet y’all but the alcoholic beverage is sakE not sakI. And yes, Americans all say it wrong because it should be said as it’s romanized, sah-keh (something like that anyway). How can y’all call yourself otaku when you don’t know that ? O.O ?

So I wonder what was received? Files for a new website? If so, they might be pretty Engrishy…

  14. random.idiot Says:

    > 13,

leave it to an idiot to catch a mistake of another idiot :p

by the way, does that mean that you always say “Nihon” and never say “Japan”?

  15. Sacchinftw Says:
    September 23rd, 2010 at 5:54 am

Even in English, sakE is spelled with an ‘E’.

  16. random.idiot Says:
    September 23rd, 2010 at 6:26 am

    > 15

just in case you were replying to my post (14), I am actually accepting the mistake (of writing Saki instead of sake). The 2nd line is because of the “[all] Americans [...] say it wrong..” part of the 13’s post.

    sorry for the ambiguous post.

  17. zalas Says:
    September 23rd, 2010 at 8:18 am

Well, if you wanted to say “nihon”, you shouldn’t pronounce it like “nigh hone”. Otherwise, just stick with “Japan”. XD

  19. random.idiot Says:
    September 23rd, 2010 at 8:30 pm

zalas, never argue with an idiot blah blah blah :p

by the way, minori site now shows Yuuko going back, while leaving, a bikini clad, Miyako behind. I guess this is the end of NNL, there is no way for them to work with her around. Very smart move minori, very very smart.

looks like the guess of “unregistered” poster in the forum was correct, it was a meeting.

  21. random.idiot Says:

they’ve been a division of minori for a while now. I still think it would be better for them to be an independent translator, but it is for them to decide not for me.

Another update of minori’s website. Yuuko is now headind towards Netherlands, so I think it’s pretty safe to assume that they’ve made (or are in the process of negotiating) an agreement with Mangagamer.

What happened to the most recent article on ef? Why is it gone now?

  39. ImmLff Says:
    September 27th, 2010 at 2:06 pm

    >38 Makes me wonder as well.
The most probable explanation I can see is zalas taking the article down because of NNL’s trolling/complains, though I still hope that I’m wrong and there are some other reasons behind it. Because if my guess is right it is really and totally lame.
The article was not incorrect nor it was biased, as far as I can say.

  40. Asceai Says:
    September 27th, 2010 at 2:40 pm

The most bias against NNL comes from NNL itself. If you want to see the material that’s been brainwashing us into thinking NNL are a bunch of tools, well, just look at the front page of their website!

They say what a wonderful bunch of translators they are, tearing into other translation projects be them commercial or fan while passing off THIS as good work:
優子「泥がついてるってことは……まさか、お墓を掘り返したりとか? そういうのって確か……」-> “The fact that your hands were soiled…you were not digging one up, were you?”
優子「ネクロフィリアとかなんとか……」-> “That would most certainly be called necrophilia, or something of the sort.”

After making the decision to release ef standalone and not as a patch they kept changing the excuse why they were doing it and expecting people to be updated on the most current one. First they were self-righteous about making people go through hoops to prove they’d bought a copy of the game (with Wind, including that whole support disc fiasco), then they decided to do an about face and be self-righteous about their own right to distribute the whole game standalone– apparently their moral code is whatever mood GipFace is in when he gets up in the morning!

They go and make broad statements about the quality of games they haven’t played, they attempt to ballot-stuff a game’s score on vndb, they used their own translation project as a hostage to get vndb to merge the -first tale- and -latter tale- entries (which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard- do we merge the Muv-Luv entries too? They were supposed to be released as one game! What about BALDR SKY?)

While, yes, NNL is more than just GipFace, GipFace is the person who updates their website and is pretty much their spokesperson; if they can’t control their spokesperson, keep their spokesperson from mouthing off, they deserve the negative image he gives them.

There is absolutely nothing novelnews could say to be more biased against NNL than NNL is biased against NNL.

  43. Says:
    September 27th, 2010 at 10:51 pm

you still cant even enter minori’s real site because they say they don’t want you. and if you buy their shit its literally saying them that we will suck their cock regardless of how they threat you

  44. mstrchef117 Says:
    September 28th, 2010 at 7:04 am

    You’re never satisfied are you?
Why would you want to go to minori’s page? It all in jap and you can’t buy anything from there and there are better ways to check their catalog.Besides now that they have an overseas page in english so there would be no need for those who need Eng tls to go on a page where everything is in Jap. For all they are concerned, you’re just wasting bandwidth.

  45. someone else Says:
    September 28th, 2010 at 8:04 am

    >Why would you want to go to minori’s page?
Maybe because I want to download official wallpapers, especially since minori is “nice” enough to actually C&D boorus?
Or maybe because I need real data about characters and not usual “they are all 18+” crud?
Or maybe because I want to look up official catalog numbers of OST CDs?
Or maybe because I want to confirm if some merchandise is approved by game producer or not?
Or maybe because I’m tired of maintaining custom routing table and a bunch of VPNs just to get around silly IP blocks?
Or maybe because of zillion other reasons?

After all, It is plainly rude to lock people who are interested in their products out of their website.
