MangaGamer announces release date estimates

At a panel on visual novels at Otakon, MangaGamer translator Kouryuu announced slightly more concrete release date estimates for their announced titles. Da Capo Innocent Finale and Da Capo II are now slated for winter and Koihime Musou is now slated for fall, with a trial version release aimed at August 10. Da Capo Innocent Finale will apparently use the same voice actors as the original Da Capo game, as opposed to the voice actors for the consumer port. The panel was concluded with a subtle remark and a “Good night!”

    hehehehee, without their Japanese friends the panel isn’t that exciting.

    any way, a question (which I don’t know if other have asked or not), the PC version of DCif, is it an all ages version (like the PS2 version) or it an adult upgrade?

    The version they’re releasing, as was explained at AX, is the all-ages version.

    Excellent, a trial version will be useful for the more terminology intensive game.

    Interesting point on the DC IF VAing. Though, I felt like with all the DC games, that there’s been quite a number of VAs for the same characters. (Ex: Anime Kotori, DC Kotori, ExP Kotori I believe are all different VAs, and this doesn’t include DC fandiscs or CIRCUS fandiscs that include multiple characters from different series, where Kotori might have had another different VA.).

    What made that DC IF case of original VAing, since re-integrating all the lines with a different VA would naturally consume time and energy? It’s all ages, and I can see how PC -> PS2 would differ in VA, but to do PS2 -> PC and use original VA, now that I have not seen before.

    Well, on another standpoint, I suppose it would be odd to have bought Da Capo, like the character Kotori, then buy Da Capo IF, and have Kotori with a much (maybe) different voice.

    @Amoirsp:
    Kotori ExP actually included the PC version of D.C.I.F. already using the PC voice actor (the same as was used in all the other content included in ExP, like D.C.P.C., D.C.W.S., etc.). So all MangaGamer is doing here is taking that existing PC version and removing the little bit of adult content they added to bring it back in line with the original PS2 release. (Which begs the question of why they don’t just release Kotori ExP including the adult content, but I guess they want to increase their all-ages releases, and/or they’ll release ExP later…)

    @relentlessflame

    Was the Kotori VA for PC the same one for that … other fandisc game (Circus Land I)? Can’t remember the CV from the promo video since it’s been like two+ years since seeing that one I lost track by now.

    Good information on the ExP. I don’t know what was in ExP other than that it is mostly a compilation of Kotori scenes, thus I had no idea DCIF PC version already was in it.

    Well, it doesn’t seem as complicated as I originally thought (with PS2 porting to PC being quite the workload.)
