Indie Japanese novel game maker ventures into English translation

A person going by the handle Waitingforyouguys sent us email and informed us that he had created an English translation of the trial version of Kisaragi-no-Hogyoku, a short novel game he wrote for the iPhone. This game was adapted from a novel published on the creator’s site. The game does not use character sprites, but rather black and white full-screen images with text on the bottom half of the screen. The story revolves around the formation of “Ren” pairs between students at school and the competition for the top “Ren” pair. The translation is decent, although there are a few typos. Furthermore, the creator is seeking people who know both Japanese and English to help with the translation of the full game.

Could someone please give me the text’s MB data? I’m sure it would be useful to those that would possibly consider translating this game.

To get an idea of how long the game is, potential translators can take a look at the original web novel from which this game adaptation was made: http://waitingforyouguys.blog7.fc2.com/blog-category-3.html

To KoiNoDensetsu (and other potential translators),
    Thanks for your message.
In fact, the visual novel is shorter than the original web novel.
The text file size of the visual novel is about 170KB.
I have the prototype game file which can run on Windows PC.
If you are intrested in my visual novel, please come to my website mentione as above and send e-mail to me.
I’m willing to share with you Japanese lite version.

I like your drawings. Clean lines, nice character designs. And iPhone is very suitable for this. Very happy about this release! I will tell people to buy the software once it comes out.

(Possibly the first time in history A Japanese person has ever released a visual novel to the West without the help of a foreign localization team?)
