wonder if its just mangagamer not having interest in finishing translating “Suck my dick or die!” and kill “My sex slave is a classmate” since sales must have flatlined for it as a slight PR move.

merely contemplating as “The Queen and Princess as your rewards” is still in progress for its release unless they decide to take it down.(translation might be done im guessing and they want some cash)

Little Busters have loli as well, and many “good story” titles have lolis as well.

While I have no love for rape games and wouldn’t normally shed a tear for something like the ones that got removed I don’t like the precedent it sets. It opens the door to invite further censorship of creative rights that could further extend to things I do like. You have to remember theirs a big campaign against loli ongoing aswell in numerous countries…Now when politicians say loli you have to remember this includes ALL underage characters not just the prototypical flat chested little girls and considering the percentage of Eroge that use a school setting thats a massive amount of the games currently on the market.

If this ruckus just stops at rape games then I’ll breath a sigh of relief but my paranoid side tells me this has the chance of going too far…Guess will see.

the dark (no pun intended) side of this, is the Japanese developers have learned a hard lesson on what they should and should not offer to ‘us’ (potential customer outside Japan).

There are a number of titles that have loli or rape (in one or more of it definitions) in them (even if it is not a core part of the story). But with this mess, the Japanese companies will have to take 1 of the 2 approaches while dealing with us. (1) “censor” the ‘western’ offending part (2) don’t bother providing the title to west.

this mess couldn’t have come at a worst time, we (well, me at the very least) were hoping that Japanese companies will work on translating their title into English and sale them through MG or their own companies. But now they will have to be wary of offending western organisations, to the point that they might avoid us or worst… make western style VNs* that are targeted at western players!

* imagine clannad taking place at western style high school instead of a Japanese one…. and now imagine all the girls having a western teen life/behavior style instead of a Japanese anime style.

Who cares about a couple of bullshit generic titles getting scratched? If I want to read a good story there are plenty of those around, and if I really want to beat off that badly I have much better stuff available to me.
