A group has started working a translation of AKABEi SOFT2’s Devil on the G-string. Currently, only a teaser patch for the first chapter is scheduled to be released in a few days, but the rest of the game is marked for translation assuming response to the teaser patch is positive. The group is still looking for an additional editor, translation checker, a dedicated hacker, a video editor, as well as some general quality checking staff.
Devil on the G-string (G線上の魔王) was published in 2008 and rated very highly, receiving the top prize from the 2008 Bishojo Game Award. Janus-faced Kyousuke Azai is the protagonist in this story, which starts with him encountering a transfer student named Haru Usami who asks him “Do you know about the Devil?” The game is comprised of several chapters, one for each heroine, and features classical music as background music in addition to vocal songs.
The translation process consists mainly of a Chinese-to-English translation from the Chinese patch of the game, followed by editing as well as translation checking based on the Japanese text. Files for the current translation are also hosted on a subversion repository that is read-only to the general public.
