An astute reader notes that a person going by the name of Aroduc has been working on a translation for the first of Broccoli’s Galaxy Angel games. An alpha patch for most of the first four chapters of the game has been released along with a sample gameplay video of the patch in action.
Galaxy Angel, or rather Project G.A., was Broccoli’s video game project that turned into a media-mix project (planned releases in different media formats from the outset), described as “Sakura Taisen in space” by someone from Broccoli at an anime convention in the US. The game is basically a romance, or ren’ai game that features both elements of visual novels and real time space strategy games.
In addition to the three games that make up the series, Project G.A. also created light novels, manga, and a gag-filled animated adaptation as well. The manga was being localised into English by now-defunct Broccoli International, and the anime was released in English by Bandai Entertainment.
There were originally plans to localise this game officially for the North American market by a company Broccoli International had some communication with, but this attempt did not bear fruit, and not much was heard from this company again. Now, with Broccoli International shut down, chances for an official localisation look slim.
