Dakkodango Translations has released their English localisation patch for Leaf’s Tears to Tiara. This is the culmination of a five-month-long effort started by team leader cheese. Error reports, if any, are requested and can be submitted through their forums.
Tears to Tiara is a semi-real-time strategy role playing game created by Leaf, which also published familiar titles like Utawarerumono and To Heart. The story starts with the capture of Riannon, daughter of the chieftain of the Gael tribe, a pledge by her brother, the hotheaded Arthur, to save her and the awakening of the dark lord Arawn, and it culminates in an epic tale of ages before, of how mankind freed itself from the shackles of slavery and of the rebellion of one of Heaven’s own. The game derives a lot of inspiration from Celtic mythology and features a setting similar to that of Roman Brittain.
The original game, for which this patch is intended, has sex scenes, but there is a remake for the PlayStation 3 with such scenes removed and totally redone character designs. An animated adaptation is also scheduled to start soon.
