A new group named Dakkodango Translations has, by word of its founder cheese, announced that it is working on Tears to Tiara, a 2005 adult SRPG created by Leaf, bearing some semblance to already famous Utawarerumono. Hacking and extraction/insertion appear to be mostly finished and cheese reports to have started on the script translation, but he is looking for additional translators to share the workload with.
Tears to Tiara is a retelling of Arthurian legends, a tale that spans the whole length of history. The narrative beings with the awakening of the Demon King Arawn, brought to life from his timeless sleep by a holy empire, intent on ruling the world. To complete the summoning, the empire presents a sacrifice to Arawn: Rhiannon, priestess and daughter of the chieftain of the Gael tribe. Intent on rescuing her, her brother Arthur summons all abled men in the tribe, burns down their village in order to signify their resolve, and leads them towards the imperial stronghold. Little do the imperial lackeys know that history has yet another twist up its sleeve and the protagonists find themselves on an epic journey and discover the truth behind the history of their lands.
The game has recently seen an all-age remake released for the PS3 by Aquaplus, called Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi. This newer version features redrawn CG, revised battle system and expanded storyline. A Tears to Tiara animation is planned to air sometime next year.
